- The first post-war Norton with a twin-cylinder engine
- Beautiful original presentation
- A worthy rival to the Triumph Speed Twin
- No reserve
In the aftermath of the Second World War, the success of the twin-cylinder Triumph Speed Twin encouraged other British manufacturers to follow suit, and Norton gave birth to the Model 7 Dominator, unveiled at the 1948 London Motor Show at Earls Court. Equipped with a 500 cc vertical twin-cylinder engine designed by Bert Hopwood, an engineer from Triumph, it can thus line up, unashamed, alongside the competition.
The Norton Dominator from the Panini collection benefits from the second type of rear suspension, oscillating rather than sliding, which provides better road-holding - especially when combined with the excellent 'Roadholder' telescopic fork. This bike also features the beautiful pear-shaped exhausts that replaced the early "sausage" exhausts. In good original condition, it has undoubtedly benefited from a past paint job and the accessories have been cleaned to preserve their authenticity. It comes complete with lighting, a Smiths km/h speedometer, and a Lucas ammeter. Symbolising Norton's entry into the modern era, this Norton Dominator is sure to please any lover of English motorbikes from the golden era.
