British motorbikes of the '60s were renowned for their technical conservatism, yet the Norton Commando was a real innovation compared to its predecessor, the Atlas. One of the shortcomings of the large parallel-twin engines - typical of British bikes of this era - was the abundance of vibrations, and to combat this, the engineers developed a flexible mounting system for the engine and swingarm, known as 'Isolastic', which eliminated vibrations and significantly improved comfort and handling. The Commando also differed from the Atlas in that the cylinders were tilted forward, and the exhaust pipes were tapered and raised slightly towards the rear, giving it a more dynamic appearance. Its 60 bhp allowed it to produce speeds in excess of 180 km/h.

The Norton Commando from the Panini collection is a Roadster version and its 'canary yellow' colour is true to the original, as is the rest of the bike, including the controls, lighting, and accessories. It was previously registered in the Reggio Emilia area under number RE 91515 and is fitted with a speedometer in kilometers. This is a highly authentic representation of one of the most legendary British motorbikes of that era.
