In response to the trend set by BSA, Triumph introduced a range of inclined-cylinder models in 1930, from which the "Silent Scouts" were born. As their name suggests, they were designed to reduce noise, in particular through the use of 'Harmonic' cam timing designed by engineer A.A Sykes. He took great care in the development of these machines, in particular ensuring that the cooling fins were installed horizontally to absorb the air flow.
The Silent Scout Type B from the Panini collection features a 500 cc single-cylinder pushrod engine with twin tailpipes and raised tubes, giving it a certain sporty elegance. It's well equipped, with Triumph's first tank dashboard to complement the headlamp-mounted speedometer.
This bike is in beautiful, original condition, with all its accessories, instruments, inscriptions, and the badge bearing witness to its participation in the 1935 Giro di Lombardia, organized by the Aeroclub di Milano. This is a rare model that boasts a technical quality and meticulous finish deserving of the consideration of even the most jaded of enthusiasts.
