As stated by its serial number, this Mustang convertible left the factory of New Jersey in 1966 and had the optional 289ci - 225hp V8 engine (Code A), the most powerful one after the code K. The current owner’s father was none other than the famous racing driver Regis Fraissinet who took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1964 and 1965 at the wheel of an AC Cobra and a Bizzarini! He bought this Mustang in 2009 at an Artcurial auction sale, seduced by the fact that the car was French since new and that it was an authentic and rare GT version (front disc brakes, additional metering and headlights…) the accessory counter unit on the steering column is no longer present, but an accessory rev counter has been adapted.
The car had just benefited from major work (manual gearbox and clutch redone, new power steering and brake callipers, “Pony” interior with restored headrests, etc.) and also had a standard exchange engine. In 2010, this beautiful convertible was repainted, then regular servicing was carried out by the “Curated Garage” in Portugal, the last dating from March 2024. With its 2022 FIVA card included and equipped with an electric convertible top, this Mustang is definitely one of the most desirable versions on the market.
