In the late 1950s, Alfa Romeo topped its range with a luxury sedan, the Berlina 2000, available in coupe and convertible versions. In 1962, to elevate the performance to match the desired prestige, these cars received a 2600 inline six-cylinder engine, the last one produced by the brand. In addition to the factory body styles, between 1965 and 1967, Alfa Romeo offered a more specific Sprint Zagato version. Not only did it feature a few more horsepower (165), but it also showcased a more athletic, streamlined, and racier design. Particularly exclusive and expensive, this model would only be produced in 105 units. It marks the end of the prestige Alfa Romeos made according to the desires of wealthy and sporty clients whose aesthetics are still highly praised today.

According to Alfa Romeo archives, the 2600 SZ we present is the second-to-last one built, leaving the factory on May 30, 1967. It was originally painted in Grigio Metallizzato. The car then went to Lugano, Switzerland. In the 1990s, it was found in France in the hands of Claude Fresard, a discerning collector. The car entered the current collection in the early 2000s and was sent to Carrozzeria Touring in 2006 for a complete restoration, including both mechanics and bodywork, with no cost limits. The car has been driven very little since, except for attending the Paleis Het Loo Concours d'Élégance, where it easily won 1st place in its category in 2010. This 2600 SZ is absolutely exceptional, and the restoration has aged flawlessly. Its orange leather interior, reminiscent of a famous French luxury brand, has been expertly crafted. It is equipped with new Borrani wheels, still in perfect condition. This is a rare opportunity to acquire such a rare model, designed by one of the most important Italian coachbuilders and restored to such a high level of finish.
