The Flaminia coupe is a car of rare elegance, one of Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni’s masterpieces. In addition to its very successful design, it also boasts an extraordinary level of build refinement, thanks to the renowned craftsmanship of Touring’s boilermakers, where those who worked with aluminium formed some kind of elite. Before hiring an apprentice, Anderloni would have them pass the “bala” (ball) test, which involved using a mallet to transform two aluminium discs into two perfectly joined half-spheres.

This particular model is a Flaminia GT, a Touring 2.8L 3C coupe which contains its best engine capacity. It’s been in the hands of the same collector since 2001, when he acquired it at a Poulain-Le Fur auction sale at the Palais des Congres. The car was then coming out of a full restoration carried out by the best specialist of that time. Mechanical work done by Tecnica Auto in Paris (engine carefully rebuilt, new gearbox, clutch, stainless steel exhaust, braking system, fuel tank, shock absorbers, etc.).These mechanical works amounted to invoices worth 400,000 FF.

The bodywork was restored from the bare chassis on a healthy base by other specialists of the brand: the Blaise Pascal garage in Ivry. Bodywork stripped down, polished gloss paint of exceptional quality. All seals replaced with new ones. This represented an additional 130,000 FF in invoices, plus 50,000 FF for the upholstery which was redone by “Les Selliers Professionnels” (recommended by Technica Auto). Seats are covered in red leather, as well as the door panels and the rear part. The headliner and the red carpets are new. This restoration started in 1991 and was not completed until 1999. Since then, the car has travelled around 20,000 km in 25 years and was serviced by our collector’s in-house mechanic. This is an underrated and exclusive car of rare elegance.
