Launched in 1937, the Triumph Speed Twin set the tone: while British manufacturers were loyal to single-cylinder engines, this model (featuring a vertical twin-cylinder engine) set a precedent and other major brands were quick to follow suit. For BSA, it was the A7 which was launched in 1946 at the Paris Motor Show, powered by a 500 cc twin-cylinder overhead valve engine with a separate gearbox, set in a rigid frame with telescopic forks.

To keep up with the competition, this model was supported in 1949 by the A10 designed in collaboration with Bert Hopwood who had worked on Triumph and Norton twin-cylinder engines. The A10 had a 650 cc engine, 35 hp and a sliding rear suspension that would soon give way to an oscillating system starting from 1953.

The first version of the A10 was marketed under the Golden Flash name, just like this particular motorcycle. Purchased in England in spare parts, it was completely restored by our collector with the desire to use original parts. In its unusual red colour, it is a worthy representative of this classic and sober model.
