Founded in Birmingham, Velocette became famous from the 1920s for its ‘K’ series with an overhead-cam 350cc engine; its KTT variant contributed to the firm’s reputation thanks to its success in competition, including the famous Tourist Trophy. Its bikes were well built and the company was one of the first to offer a foot-operated gearchange. In the 1930s, the ‘M series was introduced, featuring pushrod engines with overhead valves; the camshaft was located quite high up, allowing the use of short pushrods. This led to the MAC 350: a good touring bike, it attracted the attention of the British and French armies, but the French order was cancelled due to the advance of the German troops. Production of the MAC resumed after the war, when the model gained a telescopic front fork. From 1933–1952, it was the best-selling Velocette. Purchased in England, the MAC we are offering for sale was restored in the past and, according to its owner, is ideally suited to users of smaller stature. A real toy ... With its superb fishtail exhaust, it will offer its new keeper the added satisfaction of owning an exclusive and well-designed motorbike.
