First registered in England on 11 August 1949, this magnificent Vincent 1000 Black Shadow was purchased in 2018 by its current owner, the collector of the Silver Collection, from Godet Motorcycle, a world-renowned specialist in the brand. It was this workshop, set up by Patrick Godet, that had previously carried out the restoration, preserving all the authenticity of the machine, which now features a slight patina.

 

Whatever the model, Philip Vincent's motorbikes are the stuff of dreams, especially those powered by the big 998 cc V-twin. When the 1936 Rapide came onto the market, it was the fastest production motorbike in the world, and it has not slowed much over the years.

 

For those who wanted an even sportier motorbike, Vincent unveiled the Black Shadow in 1948, with a special treatment of the cylinders that gave them their characteristic black appearance. Benefiting from technical modifications that improved its performance, it was capable of a top speed in excess of 200 km/h. This Black Shadow is one of the first C-Series models to feature an improved chassis, including a Girdraulic fork with a parallelogram design and a hydraulic shock absorber. Restored by one of the finest workshops of its kind, this is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most legendary models in motorcycling history.
