- Well preserved, 30,170 km from new
During this Olympic Games year, this Renault 25 is arriving at just the right time: it was awarded to Jean-Claude Killy, President of the Organising Committee for the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics. It was the most prestigious of the 1,500 vehicles supplied by Renault, partner of the event, and its registration number bears witness to this: 1 JO 73, the prefecture having exceptionally opened the "xxx JO 73" section especially for the occasion.
This historic car is one of two examples in the "Renault Icons" collection that Artcurial is delighted to present as part of its partnership with the brand. Finished in the colours of the Games, its special equipment included a radiotelephone, a CB radio, extra aerials and a set of tyre chains. It was powered by a 2.8-litre PRV V6 and has a five-speed gearbox, producing a top speed of 208 km/h. With just 30,170 km from new, it is very well-preserved in its Games livery and with its beautiful 'ash graphic' velvet interior, and suffers from only a small dent on the left rear wing. An overhaul has been carried out, with fluids drained and topped up, filters and spark plugs replaced and the fuel tank cleaned, however, a service check and replacement of the vintage tyres will be required before getting back on the road. The Artcurial team also checked that the voice alert systems that add to the charm of this model were working properly. Comfortable, powerful and exclusive, this Renault 25 V6 is certainly the most desirable of all surviving models.
