- Extensive preparation for FIA racing events
- Original model and eligible for historic races
- Extremely powerful 7-litre engine
Purchased by a Swedish enthusiast in 2010 in the United States, this Ford Galaxie was then fully restored and prepared so that he could enter it in FIA historic racing events. With the help of one of his friends (a specialist in sheet metal and aluminium work), he stripped down the bodywork and prepared the car according to FIA regulations. The list of special parts fitted to this Galaxie is extensive and all details are included in the file. It shows an excellent level of preparation, from the bodywork (with windows and some fibreglass panels) to the transmission and running gear, with a reinforced and lowered suspension, as well as the engine of course. This is the original 427 cc (7-litre) V8 engine and all moving parts, distribution, fuel supply and accessories have been redone.
The owner then used this car on circuits in northern Europe for many years. It therefore has a certain patina but it is most importantly reliable and very well adjusted. It is sold with a set of parts including a driveshaft, a clutch, two rims and a set of rear brake pads. Ready to hit the track after a standard service, this car is ideal for any historic racing enthusiast who wants to stand out from the crowd with an unusual and renowned reliable car: with its 7-litre engine, this imposing machine may be fearsome for the more agile and small European cars, but definitely less powerful. It is accompanied by a Historic Technical Passport valid until 2025.
