As top of the range in the post-war era, the Salmson Randonnee was fitted with a noble light alloy engine and double overhead camshaft, linked to a Cotal gearbox. Produced in just over 500 examples, this model was very attractive to Andre Trigano, who owned 4 of them including a unique Saoutchik coupe. As the Amicale Salmson confirmed to us, this particular model was delivered new on the 9th May 1951 to Ets Canepa in Marseille, of whose name is still engraved on a plate located on the dashboard. It joined the collection in 2014 and benefited from a restoration: the bodywork was repainted in metallic blue/green colour, while the interior was upholstered again in beige leather and the roof restored. All the woodwork was redone. The chrome is in used condition and the paint shows some reactions but overall, it is in sound condition. Tyres will need to be replaced. The spare wheel and crank are in the boot. After a service, this luxurious automobile “relentless rival of the most powerful cars” will delight its new owner.
Please note all vehicles in this collection have barely been used in recent years, they are therefore sold as is, with no technical inspection; They will also need a major service before getting back on the road.
