- Rare and exclusive model
- Evolution of the first eight-valve Moto Guzzi
- Very good original condition
- No reserve
Launched in 1992, the Moto Guzzi 1000 Daytona was a genuine innovation, as for the first time ever, the manufacturer's traditional V-twin engine was fitted with overhead camshaft timing and four valves per cylinder, boosting the power output to 95 bhp. This Daytona is the brand's top-of-the-range model, even after the arrival of the 1100 Sport which, despite having a larger engine, is less powerful and considerably less expensive. In 1996, Moto Guzzi broke new ground with the Daytona RS, which combined the fairing of the 1100 Sport with an even more powerful engine, producing 102 bhp at 8,500 rpm. In the Moto Journal presentation test, Alan Cathcart states: "This RS is a very good bike, significantly better than any 8-valve Guzzi I've tried to date. It gives the impression of being well built...". Production remained extremely limited, at around 300 units.
In very good original condition, the Daytona RS we are presenting here has 83,309 km on the clock and the red zone at 9,000 rpm that distinguishes this model from the standard Daytona. It has a high-back fairing at the rear, however, the original fairing is supplied with the bike. As well as a being rare example, this machine is one of the best-performing and most accomplished Moto Guzzi bikes of the late 90s.
