Launched in 1939, the Gilera Saturno is one of the most iconic machines in the history of the make. Designed by Giuseppe Salmagi, it has had great success, both in racing (speed and motocross) and on the road (in civilian, police or military versions). In this desirable Sport version, the single-cylinder engine produces 22 hp at 5,500 rpm and propels this machine to around 135 km/h. According to some sources, only around 400 sport versions were produced for the 1954 year.
This particular model was registered new in Turin on the 20th November 1954, as evidenced by its old libretto. As a great motorcycle enthusiast, its current owner acquired this Gilera after a complete restoration was carried out. Still fitted with its specific Dell Orto carburettor, it has not been ridden in recent years and will require a standard service before returning to the road. The Saturno Sport is one of the most iconic models of the post-war era, whether on the road or as decoration in an office; this beautiful example deserves your attention.
