This Porsche Speedster is simply exceptional. First, it is one of 161 examples produced with the narrow body. As stated on its certificate of authenticity as well as its original compliance certificate, it left the factory on the 12th June 1989 and was registered in Belgium 2 days later.

With a colour combination likely to be unique, including “Grand Prix White” for the bodywork, black for the soft top and “Velvet red” for the leather upholstery, it also has the following equipment: short gear lever, Blaupunkt autoradio, Grand Prix forged rims painted in white, electric sports seats and boot liner with velvet carpet. Another remarkable aspect of its history is that it was purchased from its first owner in March 1993 (when the mileage was at less than 13,000 km from new) by Michel Thiriar, model specialist and author of a dedicated reference publication about Speedster; he has also written many articles for Flat 6 (in fact, this example was on the cover!). The latter kept it for 28 years and meticulously cared for it, as well as respecting rigorous servicing initiatives specific to connoisseurs. This is why the vehicle is today in such an exceptional original condition, after travelling 179,000 km.

The pouch contains all original booklets, including the stamped servicing logbook which seems to be consistent with the evolution of the mileage with the Car-Pass, as well as an important file of invoices and inspection reports since 1993. It was in May 2020 that its current owner bought it from Michel Thiriar and since then, all 4 shock absorbers and tyres have been replaced, running gear checked and adjusted and the braking system bled. Matching numbers, matching colours, this extremely rare example has a clear and documented history which justifies its incredible well-preserved condition. We are in the presence of a true collector’s item which will not fail to attract the attention of enthusiasts.
