- A combination of performance and sheer beauty
- Rare and sought after
- Four-cylinder twin-cam engine derived from competition
- No reserve
MV Agusta became famous thanks to its numerous successes in competition, in the hands of the greatest riders of all time, such as Les Graham, John Surtees, Mike Hailwood and Giacomo Agostini. Its motorbikes stood out on account of their three- or four-cylinder twin-cam engines, which were radically different from the big British single-cylinder engines.
Count Domenico Agusta decided to expand into touring bikes with the launch of the 600 in 1965. Its four-cylinder engine was inspired by competition, but its shaft drive made it more of a touring machine. The 600 was followed by the sportier 750 Sport, whose engine developed 69bhp at 7800rpm and let it reach nearly 200kph while producing a fantastic sound. In period, this refined machine faced competition from the Honda CB 750, which was cheaper and easier to use, but today, the MV’s racy lines, rarity and pedigree make it one of the most sought-after touring bikes of all time. From 1970–1974, just 556 units were built.
The 750 S in the collection is a first-series model and is in good condition following an older restoration. It was recommissioned by Michel Magnin, Paul-Émile B’s mechanic, but has hardly been used since it was bought. With its timeless good looks and finely sculpted engine, this is a rare opportunity to acquire such a legend.
