This car is exceptional in terms of its history and condition. It is one of a very small series of probably just three Fiat 1100 TVs ('Turismo Veloce') which, under the name 'Désirée', received special bodywork by Vignale based on a design by Michelotti.

Sold new in 1957, in San Remo to a young lady, Miss Maria Cajani, and registered in the Aosta Region in 1972, the present example was purchased by the president of the ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) in the Aosta region. While the car was in used condition at the time, it was complete with all of the accessories and hubcaps that make this type of coachbuilder's car so special. Aware of the value of this attractive coupé, its owner had it restored a decade ago, applying the same care and attention given to much important models and using only high skilled craftsmen. The result is worthy of this rare and elegant model, with an extremely well-executed colour scheme.

It has since been awarded an ASI certificate, as well as a FIVA identity card that specifies that the colours are as original, that the interior has been rebuilt using the correct materials and colours, and that the engine is of the correct type for this car. It still has its old Aosta number plates, and the finishing touches include an 'I' (for Italy) on the boot, which is illuminated from the inside, as found on the top luxury cars of the era.

The charm of this coupé has charmed its current owner - a family of collectors from Brescia. It is sold with a file documenting its full history and pictures of the restoration. An elegant, rare car that radically stands out from mass-produced models, it will be welcomed with honours at the most prestigious gatherings and concours d'élégance.
