- More powerful 73 year
- European version
- Car in healthy condition
- No reserve
A new 4-cylinder 2L engine was launched for the 914 when it comes to the 1973 year, linked to a 5-speed gearbox, producing 100 hp and able to reach 200 km/h while retaining the dynamic qualities for which the model is famous for.
This particular example is one of them: it is a GB type (European version more powerful than the US versions), most certainly sold new in Italy. This is also where its owner found it and acquired it in Milan in July 2023. He was won over by the fact that the car was in sound condition.
The bodywork was fully repainted in red but in some places, we can see some blue colour that is similar to the very striking “Marine Blue” offered by the manufacturer at the time. The original injection system was replaced by 2 twin carburettors, as it was often the case to enhance the performance that this robust chassis could cope with. On board, the upholstery is in good condition; a recent optional steering wheel and a CD radio was installed. This interesting 914 is also equipped with optional rims. Since it has not been driven much recently, it will need a general overhaul, including the brakes. However, it does constitute a very interesting base, both for its condition and its production year.
