This gorgeous 250 GTE was delivered on the 20th of March 1962 to its first owner DC Ulrico Bracci by the official Ferrari agent in Florence, Renato Nocentini. The car is in its “Griggio Argento” configuration with Nero Franzi leather interior, which it has retained to date. Almost two years later and still in Florence, it went into the hands of the second owner. It returned to the factory for a complete restoration in 1966, when the odometer displayed a mileage of 39,650 km. Ten years later, it was acquired by an American soldier working in Italy. It crossed the Atlantic in the mid-1970s and was sold there in Arizona.
It was then acquired in 1985 by DC Terry Maxon of Glendale in Arizona, at the same time as a 275 GTB. He then changed the colour to red in order to match it with his 330 GTS. He kept the car for 37 years and participated in various Club Ferrari of America events with his family. The car is maintained in impeccable condition and includes a file with an impressive amount of invoices in the United States. Jean-Pierre Slavic acquired it at an auction and re-imported it to Europe. He then entrusted the car to the best craftsmen in Modena. Its bodywork has been fully restored and returned to its magnificent original colour, as well as the engine which was completely overhauled and the interior which was redone by Luppi. The car is accompanied by extensive files retracing its service history.
It was inspected and approved by Ferrari Classiche; the red book will be delivered with the car to its new owner.
The history of this Ferrari 250 GTE Series II is therefore transparent and is today owned by Jean-Pierre Slavic, one of the most important Swiss collectors of Ferrari cars, which means that it is from a very good provenance. This is a car that has always benefited from rigorous care and it will be able to offer great performance to its future owner and 3 passengers, all perfectly seated inside.
Lots from outside the EU: In addition to the commissions and taxes indicated above, an additional import VAT will be charged (5,5% of the hammer price for vintage/classic cars, 20% newer/modern motorcars plus potentially a 10% customs duty).
