Introduced at the 1955 Geneva Motor Show, the 1100 TV Trasformabile is an elegant two-seater spider, highly inspired by American aesthetic canons and entirely conceived in the design office of Fiat’s “special bodywork” department. Its sporting engine and its light weight enabled it to take part in the 1956 Mille Miglia and the 1957 Targa Florio.
This particular example was discovered in Italy by its current owner when the car had a traditional restoration while respecting its original colours. He was seduced by the presence of the optional Borrani wheels, as well as the fact that the car still retained its extremely rare plywood hardtop. Since 2020, the car benefited from a restoration of the cylinder head with a conversion to unleaded fuel and replacement of the clutch, additionally to the usual service. The tyres and battery were replaced in May 2024, while the brakes were overhauled and the fluids changed. Rare, elegant and eligible for the most prestigious events, this spider deserves the attention of collectors.
