La Talbot Sunbeam Lotus a brillé de 1000 feux en championnat du monde des Rallyes, s'octroyant même le titre constructeur en 1981. Au volant de cette bête curieuse, Henri Toivonen, Jean-Pierre Nicolas et Guy Fréquelin qui, avec Jean Todt, va même passer à deux doigts de remporter le titre pilote en 1981.

La voiture présentée, sortie à 2308 exemplaires dont 388 pour la France, est une 2e main d'origine française et ne totalise que 71700 Km. Elle est équipée du 4 cylindres Lotus de 2,2 l à double arbre à cames en tête à 16 soupapes développant 155 Ch, accolée à une boîte ZF à 5 rapports avec 1ère en bas et de carburateurs Dell'Orto de 45. Elle est montée avec des ressorts de suspension courts, d'une barre anti-rapprochement et d'amortisseurs Koni. Les freins avant sont neufs ainsi que la pompe à essence et la batterie. La peinture, les tapis et le ciel de toit sont neufs. Un lot important de pièces et un manuel de bord accompagne la voiture. Cette petite bombe à propulsion arrière, légère et puissante peut tenir la dragée haute à bon nombre de sportives actuelles, lors de l'essai nous avons enclenché la 5e à 180 km/h !!!

The Talbot Sunbeam Lotus shone briefly in the World Rally Championship, with the manufacturer title going to the marquee in 1981. Driving this strange beast, Henri Toivonen, Jean-Pierre Nicolas and Guy Fréquelin who, with Jean Todt, also almost went on to win the drivers' title in 1981.

The car presented was part of the 2308 examples made, of which 388 were for France, and is a second hand French origin car with just 71,700 Km on the clock. It is powered by a 4-cylinder Lotus 2.2-liter dual overhead cam engine with 16 valves, developing 155PS, coupled with a ZF 5-speed gearbox with the first a dogleg down and featuring Dell'Orto 45s. It is mounted with short spring suspension, strut bars and Koni shocks. The front brakes are new as well as the fuel pump and battery. Paint, carpet and headliner are new too. A large batch of parts and a manual board accompanies the car. This small RWD pocket rocket, lightweight and powerful can hold a candle to many a sports car today - when testing, we easily saw 180 km/h!
