The Cadillac Series 62 is among the firm’s most highly regarded models, the cars which began to mirror the era of the conquest of space. Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier in 1947, an achievement echoed in the shape of many everyday items, including cars. Cadillac masterfully exploited this trend, as can be seen here in the bullet-shaped bumper tips, the taillights and fins, the dummy side air intakes and the exhausts emerging from the bumper. Under the bonnet, a 5.9-litre V8 ensured sports car performance, while the luxurious interior featured refinements such as a radio, electric windows and a wealth of chrome trim.
This Cadillac has princely provenance, as it was owned from February 1995 by Prince Ernst August of Hanover, who enjoyed it with his no less famous wife, Princess Caroline of Monaco. It was only after 25 years, in September 2020, that the Prince parted with the car and it joined its current owner’s collection. A bill for more than 7200 € in December 2021 lists the maintenance work done and the jobs required to register the car in Austria. This Cadillac is unusually elegant with its pale green paintwork and matching interior, while the contrasting cream hood goes perfectly with the whitewall tyres.
Just imagine yourself driving around in the place of the prince and princess, comfortably installed in this magnificent convertible which will create new memories every time you go out.
