This Defender began its life in a dry country in Southern Europe, before benefiting from a complete restoration from the chassis up, spread over more than a year and performed by a specialist in the model. The chassis was separated from the body in order to be dismantled and restored. At the owner's request, the chassis was then painted grey with airbrushed floral motifs, adding a touch of Hippie Chic style. Everything on this Defender has been overhauled or replaced with new parts, for a result that's definitely an upgrade on original. The original V8 has been rebuilt with a higher compression ratio and a specific camshaft for an improved response time, and is fed by an Edelbrock carburettor. The alternator and starter motor have been improved and combined with an electronic ignition system. The gearbox, transfer case, differential and axles have also been rebuilt, as has the suspension, which has been reworked and improved. The original Bentley metallic blue colour that it currently sports offers a striking palette of nuances, depending on the sun's rays. The passenger compartment is sumptuous, with superb chocolate leather upholstery that also covers the dashboard and the "cubby box", and sand-coloured looped carpets to complete the look. It also features a black soft-top to protect occupants from the elements. This fully restored Defender has been improved wherever possible.
