- Prestigious origin: previously owned by George Embiricos
- Same owner from 1964 to 2011
- Exceptional original condition, unique colour combination
- Very rare left-hand drive version (only 30 produced)
This car was ordered new by George A. Embiricos, a member of one of Greece's most powerful ship-owning families, whose name is also known within the motoring world on account of the famous Bentley 'Embiricos' with its extraordinary aerodynamic bodywork by Paulin. Also a major art collector, George Embiricos sold one of the five versions of Paul Cézanne's 'Card Players' to the royal family of Qatar for nearly €200 million.
The splendid Continental S3 we are presenting was delivered to him in March 1964 at his home in Lausanne, Switzerland. In a "Docker Green Metallique" painted finish with "VM896" green leather upholstery, it was equipped with electric windows, high-frequency horn tweeters, tinted windows, front and rear seatbelts, an electric aerial, reverse button on the gear lever... This was a very rare left-hand drive model (only 30 produced), with a speedometer in km/h.
Following the death of George Embiricos in 2011, the car was bought by a Swiss collector who barely drove it prior to selling it in 2015 to its current owner, amateur of the brand who also owns the S3 Continental convertible from this sale. It has been cleared by customs for the European Union and has previously been serviced in the UK, then in Belgium in March 2023.
Today, this rare S3 Continental is in superb original condition, the Embiricos family's affluence having allowed them to maintain it without any consideration for cost. The fact that this Park Ward 'Chinese eyes' coupé has remained in the same family until 2011 is a mark of its integrity and, in its sublime combination of colours, it will be perfectly at home both on the road when out for a holiday drive, and on the lawns of the most prestigious ‘Concours d'Elegance’.
