A Louis XVI giltwood mirror

CONDITION REPORT :

Good overall condition despite the inevitable shocks and marks in accordance with age and use. No obvious accidents or visually distressing losses. Very few losses to the gilding revealing the gesso underneath. Few traces of discreet restoration to the scrolling foliage decorating the mirror’s pediment. One small loss to the tip of the wing of the bird decorating the left-hand side area of the pediment and one small loss to the foliage above the left hand side arrow. The mirror plate is later and slightly foxed. Very charming and decorative model. Ready to be displayed.
