En noyer et marqueterie florale, à décor de mascarons allégoriques et rinceaux feuillagés, le dossier ajouré, les pieds cambrés, garniture de velours marron ; petits accidents et manques

A pair of 18th century walnut and marquetery Dutch side chairs

 

CONDITION REPORT :

Good overall condition despite the inevitable wears and marks in accordance with age and use. Firm and sound construction. Traces of previous restorations to the marquetery throughout. One of the two chairs has been reinforced by means of seatblocks. Some splits and traces of previous restorations to the upper area of the seatback. Some losses to the veneer, notably to the front area of one of the two chairs. Shrinkage cracks to the veneer on the seatrail on both chairs. One front right handside foot warped. Wears and some small stains to the seat upholstery.
