- Excellent condition, one of the last ‘low-body’ cars built
- Original engine and superb original interior
- In the same ownership for nearly 25 years
- One of the most spectacular supercars of its time
This Lamborghini Countach LP 400 S ‘low-body’ Series 2 model (built before the roof was raised on the versions that followed) left the factory on 20 March 1981; it was red with a black leather interior. Sold new in Italy through Emilian Auto Bologna, it is possible that it then went to the United States, as it is equipped with the reflectors normally fitted to cars sold there.
In 1999, after it had been owned by a French enthusiast for a time, it was bought by its current owner as a treat for his 50th birthday! Since then, its excellent original condition has required only a new coat of paint in its original red. During the last ten years, it has covered only 2,000km and has been regularly maintained by the Maserati and Lamborghini specialist Pierre Nallet, who recently checked the fuel system.
With its original V12 developing nearly 350bhp, the car is in well-preserved condition today, with smooth upholstery that has remained in excellent shape and equipment including air-conditioning and an Autovox radio.
It is one of the last ‘low-body’ models, a spectacular-looking car with the wheel arch extensions and aerodynamic features which were typical of the 1980s and symbolize the exceptional performance of one of the fastest supercars of its time.
