At the 1971 Turin Motor Show, Ferrari finally decided to launch a mid-engine car. On sale from 1973, the 365 GT/4 BB was equipped with a 12-cylinder flat-six 'boxer' positioned behind the driver, hence the name 'Berlinetta Boxer'. In 1976, it was upgraded to the 512 BB and the engine was increased from 4.4 to 5 litres. It produces 360 bhp and the car can reach a top speed of 300 km/h.

 

The Ferrari 512 BB berlinetta we are presenting here comes from the estate of one of our loyal customers, an important Parisian journalist and businessman. He purchased this BB in 2021 through a French dealer ‘Moteur et Sens’, when it belonged to a collector in the Pyrénées Orientales since 2014.

In May 2022, the car underwent a important overhaul at Dino Sport in Pont l'Evèque for €32,000. The belts, including the timing belt, were replaced, as were the silent-blocks. The brakes were also refurbished and the cooling system overhauled. The invoice is included in the file that accompanies the vehicle. In October 2024, the BB was sent to Pozzi for an overhaul/change of fluids and cardan shaft bellows. An appraisal from June 2024 describes the bodywork as being in good condition, with the underframes showing no signs of deformation. The engine tipo F110A fitted in the car correspond to an injection model. The interior is beautiful, with black and red leather seats, matching the colours of the exterior. The car will be delivered with its instruction manual and a duplicate service book from 2014. A great opportunity to drive what is considered to be Ferrari's first supercar, at an extremely competitive price.
