Sold new in September 1997 in the USA, a 'Carfax' report tracks the mileage of this Viper GTS from new until 23rd of August 2019, when it had approximately 50,337 km (31,278 miles) on the odometer. It was driven sparingly after September 2007, at which time the odometer read almost 45,000 km (27,946 miles).
This Dodge Viper GTS was offered at auction in 2019. Following a seemingly minor front bumper impact, a photo of which is in its file, it had been taken off the road. It was then that the current owner acquired it. After having the car professionally restaured, he imported it into Italy, where he lived, and having made a few modifications to comply with regulations (fitting a rear fog light and black stickers on the side indicators), he was able to register it in his own country thanks to approval being issued by the Automotoclub Storico Italiano (ASI). Again in 2019, he had a complete overhaul carried out, including an oil change, replacement of the spark plugs and replacement of the clutch with more reliable components. He also commissioned exhaust specialists Ragazzon to fit silencers to the stainless steel exhaust.
In electric blue with white stripes, this Viper GTS is in satisfactory condition, with a reasonable mileage of 32,029 miles (just over 51,530 km). With its characteristic double-bubble roof and 8-litre V10, the GTS produced an impressive 450 bhp: its lightning acceleration making it something of an heir to the Shelby Cobra.
