- Fascinating history
- Interesting specifications
- Logbooks
- Exceptional model in terms of design and performance
Designed in collaboration with McLaren, this car made quite an impression at its launch: it had a crazy look with its long bonnet and side exhausts, not to forget an exceptional performance thanks to a 5.4-litre supercharged V8 engine developing 625 hp. It went from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and exceeded 330 km/h in top speed, making it one of the most amazing supercars of its era. As an enthusiast of this brand, our French collector owns both versions: the coupe and the roadster.
In addition to their exceptional characteristics, they set themselves apart by some of their owners who also tend to live “excessively”. This roadster has long been used by one of the main protagonists of the so-called “carbon tax scandal”, a major fraud which hit the headlines in the 2010s. He did not hesitate to drive in Paris with this SLR Roadster (registered at the time in England in his sister’s name under KV57 NND) which could be seen regularly in the capital. It was then part of seized assets and sold as part of legal proceedings in October 2017, when it was purchased then by its current owner.
Out of the factory in September 2007 and delivered new to Mercedes in Great Britain. It was registered in England from 2010 in the name of the previous owner and was then regularly serviced, as evidenced by the logbook stamped in 2008/2009 and the file of invoices. It now has a mileage of 54,000 km and is consequently in a satisfactory original condition. The “Chrystal Galaxite black” paint has retained its shine and the black interior with red stitching is barely worn. The convertible top appears to be the original one and is slightly marked; as for the rims, they are in flawless condition and appear to have been repainted.
Fascinating detail: the upper engine protection plate is signed by the mechanic who assembled it (Burkhard Kruger). The car has not been driven much since its purchase in 2017. It was serviced at Mercedes by our collector who notably had the flat bottom changed in December 2017. Our collector also had the front spoiler redone, as it got a bit damaged over time. It has since only been serviced by our collector’s personal mechanic and will therefore require a standard service.
Its logbooks and manuals are included, as well as a folder containing all the documents which enables its future owner to trace its history, servicing and discover the list of options.
Thanks to its history and its specifications, this is a particularly interesting example of one of the most outstanding supercars in contemporary history. With the incomparable pleasure of driving around with the top down on roads in the south and with the powerful roar coming from its compressor V8 engine.
Please note that the car is sold without the French technical inspection.
