Parmi les marques sportives italiennes des années cinquante, Lancia occupe une place à part. Sans esbroufe, la marque a su se bâtir une image où se mêlent raffinement, luxe et technique hors norme. La Flaminia y répond pleinement. Elle a commencé sous forme de berline avec la Florida, prototype qui reprend les recettes techniques de l'Aurelia : nouveau moteur V6 2,5 litres, ensemble boîte-pont à l'arrière avec freins accolés au pont. Cette voiture très élégante, signée Pinin Farina donne le jour à la Flaminia, présentée en avril 1956. Sans prétentions sportives, elle offre une finition extrêmement soignée sous une peinture généralement deux-tons. Les nouveautés plus alléchantes pour l'amateur de sport automobile apparaissent au Salon de Turin 1958. D'abord un coupé Pinin Farina, sur un empattement plus court mais qui reste plus statutaire que sportif. Sur le stand est aussi exposé un autre coupé, signé Touring. Plus bas et racé, il dégage l'esprit sportif qu'attendent les amateurs. Mais le troisième coupé présent sur le stand est peut-être le plus impressionnant : carrossé par Zagato, il offre une carrosserie aux lignes fluides, coiffées du fameux double bossage de pavillon. C'est ce nouveau coupé Flaminia Sport qui va devenir le fer de lance sportif de la marque, et c'est lui que nous avons le plaisir de présenter ici.

De teinte bleu Lancia avec intérieur rouge, cette Flaminia Sport a été trouvée en Suisse dans les années 1980 et a bénéficié d'une restauration complète entre 1990 et 1993. Environ 1 750 heures de travaux ont été consacrées à cette remise en état réalisée par les ateliers KCA en Italie, grands spécialistes de Lancia, pour l'équivalent d'un montant de 180 000 € environ.
Depuis, cette voiture a toujours été entreposée dans un garage climatisé et mise en route chaque semaine. Elle a bénéficié récemment d'une inspection et d'une révision, avec remplacement du système d'assistance de freins et réglage des trois carburateurs, pour un total d'environ 9 000 €. Elle est équipée de phares antibrouillard Marchal, amovibles. La combinaison de couleur est particulièrement séduisante, avec une sellerie en cuir Connolly de grande qualité, et l'ensemble est de très belle présentation. Accompagnée d'un certificat Lancia, cette voiture présente une occasion rare d'acquérir un des plus beaux coupés GT des années 1960, et un des plus rares : entre 1959 et 1967, on compte un total de 526 coupés Flaminia Zagato, Sport et Super Sport.

Among the Italian sports brands of the 1950s, Lancia occupies a special place. Without showing off, the brand had built up an image which managed to mix refinement with luxury and technical innovativeness, and the Flaminia symbolizes all of that. It began as a sedan with the Florida, a prototype that took the technical solutions of the Aurelia: a new V6 of 2.5 liter with a rear transaxle gearbox, with the brakes on the axle. With this very stylish car, Pinin Farina designed and gave birth to the Flaminia, unveiled in April 1956. With no sporting pretensions, it offered an extremely fine finish, usually in a two-tone paint scheme. The more enticing variants appeared at the Turin Salon of 1958: a Pinin Farina coupé on a shorter wheelbase, more elegant than truly sporting, and another coupé, this time coachbuilt by Carrozzeria Touring. Low and sleek, it exuded sportiness as expected by the fans of Lancia. But the third coupé on the stand was arguably the most impressive: with bodywork by Zagato, it featured a very sleek design, surmounted by the famous double-bubble on its roof. It was this new Flaminia Sport coupe which became the ultimate expression of the brand, and the car we present is one of them.

In a Lancia blue shade with red interior, this Flaminia Sport was found in Switzerland in the 1980s and received a complete restoration between 1990 and 1993. About 1,750 hours of work have been devoted to the restoration, carried out by the workshop KCA in Italy (renowned Lancia experts) for the equivalent sum of approximately € 180,000.
Since then, the car has always been in storage in an air-conditioned garage and driven once every week. It recently received an inspection and service, with the replacement of the brake assist system and adjustment of the three carburetors, for a total sum of about € 9,000. It is equipped with removable Marchal fog lamps. The color combination is particularly attractive, with high quality Connolly leather upholstery. The car comes with a Lancia certificate, and it represents a very rare opportunity to acquire one of the finest GT coupes of the 1960s, and one of the rarest too: between 1959 and 1967, there were a total of 526 Flaminia Zagato coupes, in both Sport and Super Sport form, produced.
