- 14,000 km from new
- Supplied new in France to Sheikh Ahmed Jamal Jawa
- In the same ownership for 34 years
- Superb Sebring blue colour
This Aston Martin V8 Volante has remarkable provenance: it was delivered new on 25 April 1984 to Sheikh Ahmed Jamal Jawa by British Motors S.A., the importer and official distributor for Aston Martin–Lagonda in Paris. Its current owner bought the car in October 1990, when it had 7000 km on the clock. The Jaguar dealer in Annecy for 40 years, he used the Aston sparingly, alongside his personal E-Type and the Jaguar models he enjoyed thanks to his position. This partly explains its very low mileage of 14,600 km. As a nod to the make so dear to him, the fog lamp covers on the Aston have a Jaguar logo. The Sebring blue metallic paint is remarkable and an elegant match for the buttery yellow electric hood (the motor for which will need to be serviced). The interior is trimmed in magnolia leather with blue piping, with the carpets in the same combination of colours. The wood trim is superb, and a gold plate on the transmission tunnel is a reminder of the Aston’s pedigree. Maintained by the mechanics in the dealership, the last service was in 2022, when the fluids were changed, including those for the automatic gearbox and rear axle. The Aston’s history file contains documents from the period as well as records from the AMOC and papers in the name of Sheikh Ahmed Jamal Jawa, including the original warranty certificate and temporary registration document when it left the dealership.
This English supercar combines all the ingredients to attract the interest of collectors: a carburettor-fed 5.3-litre V8, a remarkable pedigree, enviable condition and stunning looks, which are both muscular and elegant.
