The FV4 was one of the models that Jean Daninos intended for export, particularly to the United States, which was a promising market for the brand, and so it received the most powerful engines in the range. Only 36 units were produced, with the Chrysler Typhoon TY5 5.8L and 340 hp SAE.
As confirmed by Amicale Facel Vega, chassis 57H46 was delivered to Los Angeles-based importer Hornburg, on 14th of June 1957, transported from Europe on board the ship "Silvergate". At the time, it was in "Japanese cream" with a green leather interior and matching carpets. Although the name of the first owner remains unknown, we do know that this FV4 remained in the hands of the same owner in the USA between 1979 and 2004, when it was bought and re-imported to France by a tasteful collector and member of the Amicale Facel Véga. Its current owner acquired it from a professional in 2020, with the car having been fully restored by renowned specialist Paulo Antunes.
The stunning car is finished in metallic grey, with a sumptuous green leather interior. The engine is still the original (matching numbers), relayed by an automatic gearbox as when it left the factory. For added safety, its owner has fitted it with power steering and 4 disc brakes. This exceptional and rare FV4 has been restored and its reliability enhanced at great expense. It is ready to hit the road and has earned its place among the most selective of collections.
