- Attractive four-seater convertible body
- Good condition, both aesthetically and mechanically
- Iconic model of the early 1950s
- No reserve
Imported from Florida in 2011, this car has been in German hands ever since. It has benefited from restoration work carried out over the course of its career, respecting its originality and integrity, as a result of which the vehicle is presently in a fine state of repair. The underpinnings do not appear to have been welded, and the burgundy-red bodywork is beautifully painted. The interior, with its two-tone, full-width front bench seat and door panels in the same colours, has a lovely patina, while the dashboard features an attractive chrome grille concealing the Chevrolet radio speaker. On the outside, the abundance of chrome is characteristic of cars from the 1950s, from the large 'toothed' grille to the bonnet mascot and wing trims. A 'Body by Fisher' plaque is a reminder that this convertible version was produced by this coachbuilder, which explains the luxury finish. On the technical side, the 3.5-litre 6-cylinder engine and automatic transmission work nicely and the soft top, which suffers from a small crack, is well-fitting. Note that the rear windows can be retracted using a crank.
This is a rare model with a look typical of the glory years of “rock'n'roll”, and a four-seater convertible body perfectly suited to the easy-going pace of the engine, meaning that several people can enjoy a thrilling jaunt in the open air together.
