On 25^th May, Artcurial’s Books & Manuscripts department, in collaboration with booksellers and experts Benoît Forgeot and Philippe Luiggi, will present a part of the collection of Marie-Puck Broodthaers. Daughter of Belgian artist Marcel Broodthaers (1924-1976), gallery owner and collector, she offers for sale a set of more than 230 lots, divided into two chapters.

Wij hebben het genoegen om in Brussel tijdens Art Brussels een selectie van top loten van onze komende prestigeveilingen van Moderne, Post-War & Contemporary, en African Contemporary kunst voor te stellen. Deze omvatten een prachtige gouache door Magritte, La saveur des larmes, 1946, geschat op 800 000 / 1 200 000 €, een Paul Delvaux, La robe du dimanche, 1967, geschat op 100 000 / 150 000 €, evenals werken van Soulages, Klein, Broodthaers en keramiek van Picasso.

On Friday 10^th February, Artcurial auctioned Hergé’s original drawing for the 1942 cover of the album Tintin in America. This cover was used in 1946 for the first colour edition of the album. After a bidding battle, it was sold for €2,1M, a new world record for an original black and white drawing by Hergé.

The year 2022 marks the 20^th anniversary of the creation of the auction House, with numerous records and lots sold above €1M, as well as the sale of prestigious private collections. Artcurial is proud to celebrate this anniversary with a record result of €216,5M.

The last three Old Master & 19^th Century Art auctions of 2022, including two collections, totalled €10.8m, marking an exceptional year for this speciality.

Op 9 november 2022 had Artcurial de eer om in Parijs een belangrijke groep schilderijen van Vlaamse en Hollandse meesters uit de 16^e en 17^e eeuw uit de prestigieuze collectie Baron & Barones Vaxelaire, een familiehulde te verspreiden. Een wereldrecord werd gevestigd voor de reeks van 10 tondi door Abel Grimmer (1575-1619) die 1.538.000 euro (inclusief kosten) opbracht.

From 17^th January to 9th February 2022, Artcurial Belgium honored the work of Congolese artist Pili Pili Mulongoy. Entitled Pili Pili, a hymn to life, this cultural exhibition, which was open to the public without charge, highlighted some fifteen works from a private Belgian collection, which were shown to the public for the first time.
