Cette voiture provient d'une importante collection consacrée aux voitures de Groupe A et Groupe B de compétition et de route. Basé dans le sud de la France, son propriétaire s'est toujours attaché à trouver des voitures en très bon état d'origine, et c'est le cas de cette rare Escort RS Cosworth. N'affichant que 46 493 km d'origine, elle est accompagnée d'un dossier de factures qui montre un entretien régulier depuis 2005, avec contrôles techniques. La peinture d'origine est superbe, de même que l'intérieur et la sellerie.
Rappelons que ce modèle avait été réalisé par Ford dans le but d'une homologation en Groupe A. Il se caractérisait extérieurement par ses ailes renflées et son spoiler avant, mais surtout par son volumineux aileron arrière qui prolongeait le pavillon de façon spectaculaire. Les différences par rapport à la version de base étaient telles que la carrosserie était produite chez Karmann. Ces attributs aérodynamiques s'accompagnaient bien sûr de modifications techniques : le 4-cylindres double arbre à turbocompresseur développait 224 ch en version standard et la transmission était à quatre roues motrices.
Brillante et recherchée, cette Escort RS Cosworth est une voiture rare, dont la production s'est limitée à 7 145 exemplaires. Elle l'est encore plus dans l'état exceptionnel de celle que nous proposons.

This car comes from a major collection devoted to competition and roadgoing Group A and Group B cars. Based in southern France, its owner has always sought to find cars in excellent original condition, as is the case with this rare Escort RS Cosworth. Showing only 46,493 km from new, it comes with a file of invoices testifying to its regular maintenance since 2005, along with its safety inspection certificates. The original paintwork is superb, just like the interior and upholstery.
It should be noted that Ford developed this model in order to homologate it in Group A. Its body was characterised by its wider wings and front spoiler, but above all by its huge rear spoiler extending out from the roof in spectacular fashion. The differences compared with the standard version were so great that the body was built by Karmann. These aerodynamic features were naturally accompanied by technical changes: the four-cylinder turbocharged twin-cam engine developed 224 bhp in standard trim and the car had four-wheel drive.
Brilliant and sought-after, the Escort RS Cosworth is a rare car, of which only 7145 were produced. It is rarer still in the exceptional condition of the car offered here.
